PERCY – Janet H. Gower, 80, of Percy, passed away at 6:20 am, Thursday, June 25, 2020, at Three Springs Lodge, Chester, Illinois.

Janet was born in Willisville, Illinois, February 11, 1940, the daughter of the late William and Evelyn Bradley Mathis.  She married Thomas J. Gower, Jr., on September 12, 1959, at Willisville.  He preceded her in death on March 14, 2018.  Janet was a Retired Beautician.  She was a member of Steeleville Baptist Church and Willisville Women Organization.

Janet is survived by her children, Thomas J. (Ruth) Gower, III of Percy and Janice (Scott) Knop of Steeleville; six grandchildren, Soncy Black, Rowena Gower, Sandra Gower, Justine Knop, Kaleb Knop, and Seth Brown; and two great grandchildren, Mathew Duvardo and Hunter Duvardo.

Janet was preceded in death by her Parents; one brother, Darwin Mathis; one infant brother; and one son, Timothy Gower.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, private gravesides service will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Campbell Hill, with Rev. Matt Collins officiating.  Burial will follow.  Memorials may be given to a Love Fund for the Family.
