STEELEVILLE – James (Jamey) M. Fletcher, 52, of Steeleville, passed away at 2:28 pm, Thursday, April 1, 2021, at Memorial Hospital in Chester.
James was born in East Point, Georgia, on October 30, 1968, the son of William D. and Carolyn S. Holmes Fletcher. He was employed by Gilster Mary Lee, Steeleville. Jamey was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Steeleville. He was active in various community activities and functions. He was always willing to help when called upon. Jamey loved to fish and spend time outdoors. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
James is survived by his fiancée, Stephanie Gordon of Steeleville; one son, Cody (Briana) Fletcher of Elkville, IL; step children, Bryar Pim of Steeleville and Kenzie Pim of Steeleville; grandchildren, Serenity Fletcher and Kolton Pim; brother, Don (Beth Grzech) Fletcher of Kennesaw, GA; sisters, Karen (Ben) Giamalva of Ballwin, MO and Chris (Jack) Ehlers of Elkville; and loyal companion, Dallas.
James was preceded in death by his Parents; and two brothers, Mickey and Scott.
Jamey's wishes were to be cremated and a memorial service will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021, from 3-5pm at Scuttle Inn, 5501 State Rt 4, Percy, IL. This will be a casual event, just the way he would want it to be, feel free to wear Dallas Cowboys/St. Louis Blues/St. Louis Cardinals attire if you have it!
