VERGENNES, James O. Edwards, 72, of Vergennes, passed away at 12:20 P.M. Thursday, May 13, 2010, at his home in Vergennes, IL. He was born September 15, 1937 in St. Louis, Missouri the son of Raymond Edwards and Minnie (Kmucha) Edwards. James married Dorothy J. Osborn on October 19, 1978 in Alton, Illinois. James was retired from McDonald Douglas in St. Louis. He was a US Army Veteran. He was a member of the NRA and a passionate auto mechanic. James is survived by his wife Dorothy J. Edwards of Vergennes, IL; four children, James Ray Edwards of Madison, WI, Kelly B.C. Vandersand of Belleville, IL, Gena Bramlett of Ava, IL and Leslie M. Edwards of Vergennes, IL; six grandchildren, Casey A. Moran, Zachary J.M. Edwards, Shane E.R. Edwards, Devan C. Edwards, Tami Sides and Christopher Sides. He was preceded in death by his parents and One Son. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 16, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava. Rev. Francis Bartley will be officiating. Burial will be at Birkner Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava on Sunday from 10 am until 1 pm. 0Memorials may be made to Birkner Cemetery.
