MARISSA – James A. Douglas, Sr., 65, of Marissa passed away at 5:15 AM, Thursday, April 23, 2020 at his home.

James was born on May 26, 1954, in Red Bud, the son of James E. and Dorothy L. (Schenke) Douglas. He married Rona Szostak, on June 28, 1977, in Coulterville and they shared 42 years of marriage. James was the owner and operator of J&J Guns and Knives in Sparta, and was a member of the NRA.

James is survived by his wife; Rona Douglas, of Marissa, daughter; Kathy (Chris) Patterson, of Steeleville, 3 grandchildren; Zachary, Cadin, and Kamryn Patterson. He is also survived by his mother; Dorothy L. Douglas, of Sparta, sister; Donna Wilkerson, of Marissa, and a host of family and friends.

Mr. Douglas was preceded in death by his father; James E., son; James A. Douglas, II, and brother; Paul Douglas.

Mr. Douglas's wishes were for cremation and a Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville is assisting the family with the arrangements.
