AVA – James R. Davis, 74, of Ava, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2019, at his home in Ava.

James was born in Ava, Illinois, on June 16, 1944, the son of Grover and Grace Smith Davis.  He married Ellen K. Hames, on November 17, 1990 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, DeSoto, Illinois.  He was retired.  Jim was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Campbell Hill.  He was a retired member of Ava Volunteer Fire Department.

Jim is survived by his wife, Ellen K. Davis of Ava; children, Patricia Ann Davis of Nashville, TN, Paula Marie Flowers of Ava; step son, Paul Leland Cook of Berwin, IL; grandchildren, James Michael Flowers, Brixton Todor Cook, Deliah Faye Cook, and Zoey Flowers; brother, Larry Davis of Ava; and sister, Mary Lou Lages of St. Louis, MO.

Jim was preceded in death by Parents; infant son, Bill Davis; son, Paul Raymond Davis; grandson, Jonathon Martin.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, with Minister Debra Rathert officiating.  Burial will follow at Ava Evergreen Cemetery.  Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call from 6 pm until 8 pm Tuesday and on Wednesday from 7:30 am until the hour of service.  Memorials to St. Luke's Lutheran Church.
