VERGENNES – James B. Bell, 64, of Vergennes, passed away at 6:10 PM, Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at his home.

James was born on June 24, 1955, in Oak Park, Illinois, the son of J.B. and Juanita P. (Hiser) Bell. He married Sherri Jones on May 22, 1994, at the Faith United Methodist Church, in Vergennes. James was a former broadcast engineer for Channel 3, and was in the Alcoholics Anonymous and was 31 years clean and sober.

James is survived by his wife; Sherri Bell, of Vergennes, son; Wesley (Conner) Ramsey, of Denver, Colorado, stepfather; Donald Crawford, of Vergennes, brother; Donald Bell, of Vergennes, sister; Wanda Phillips, of Elkville, and many loved nieces and nephews.

Mr. Bell was preceded in death by his mother and father, brother; Pressley Bell, and grandparents.

It was James's wishes for cremation and a celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava is assisting the family with the arrangements.
