PERCY - Jackie Dale Killgrove, 80, passed away at 10:13 am, Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at the Sparta Community Hospital in Sparta, Illinois. Jackie was born on August 30, 1934 in Percy, Illinois, the son of Leon "Jack" Killgrove and Fay Dorothy (DesRocher) Killgrove. Jackie was a graduate of Percy Grade School, Trico High School and McKendree University. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Teacher Education and began working as a teacher for children of special needs in Springfield, Illinois. He spent the majority of his working career as a supervisor in the License and Title Division for the Illinois Secretary of State in Springfield. He was known to have helped many local banks and car dealerships with title issues during his tenure. He loved to hunt and fish with his father, friends and relatives and enjoyed bowling. His favorite baseball team was the Chicago Cubs. He was blessed with a good sense of humor and had a very positive nature. Jackie is survived by his uncles and aunts, Eugene "Turk" and Evelyn DesRocher and Art and Barbara DesRocher; cousins, Ron Kiehna, Dennis Kiehna, Marc Kiehna, Phyllis Hayes, Janice Barbour, Kim Wesbecher, Artie DesRocher, Terry DesRocher, Kent DesRocher, Nancy Ward; and other relatives and friends. Jackie was preceded in death by his Parents; Uncle Samuel DesRocher; Aunt Nathalie Kiehna; and cousin, Mary Jo DesRocher. Jackie will be cremated and his family will be holding a graveside service in the near future. He will be buried next to his parents in the Percy Village Cemetery.
