Irene M Crawford PINCKNEYVILLE, Irene M Crawford, 96, of Pinckneyville, passed away at 7:05 P.M. Tuesday, December 30, 2008, at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis, MO. She was born February 16, 1912 in Jackson County, Illinois the daughter of Joe Lively and Fannie (Locks) Lively. She married W. Curtis Crawford on June 28, 1929 in Pinckneyville, Illinois. He preceded her in death May 12, 1977. Irene spent most of her life in the Ava area and later resided in Pinckneyville. She was a homemaker, and a cook for several local restaurants in the Ava, Murphysboro and Pinckneyville area. She loved cooking for her family. She is survived by her children: Lela (Frank) Goetz of Pinckneyville, IL, Mary (Leroy) Light of Vergennes, IL, Don Crawford of Vergennes, IL,Half sister; Annabelle McClure of West Frankfort, IL, Grandchildren: Shirley (Darrel) Schweizer, Jerry (Bettylou) Goetz, Amanda (Jodie) Moore, Jim (Sherry) Bell, Presley Bell, Wanda (Jan) Philips, and Don Bell, Eight Great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.. She was preceded in death by her parents, Step father, Willie Shirely, brothers: Elza, Andrew, and Alvis Lively, Half sister, Grace Curtis, Half brother in infancy, and Grandson; Steven Light and Daughter-in-law; Juanita Crawford. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava. Rev. Kathern Midlin will be officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 6-8pm and then from 7:30 am until the hour of service on Saturday at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
