SPARTA – Ione E. Sykes, 91, of Sparta, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2019, at her home in Sparta.

Ione was born on March, 21, 1928, in Chester.   She married Myron C. Sykes on August 10, 1946 at Sparta.  He preceded her in death on April 18, 2018.  Ione was a Homemaker and a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville.

Ione is survived by a son, Michael (Diane) Sykes of Sparta; a daughter, Suzan (William Richard) DeQuasie of Bethalto, IL; 3 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and sister, Noreen Bickel of Waukegan, IL.

Ione was also preceded in death by her Parents and two brothers.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 am, Friday, September 27, 2019 at Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville, with Julie Posth officiating.  Burial will follow at Peace Lutheran Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the church from 10 am until 11 am.  Memorials may be given to Peace Lutheran Church.
