Howard retired after 45 years from Zeigler Coal Company in Sparta, IL.
Howard was a member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church in Cutler, IL. He was also a member of the B.B. K. American Legion Post #480 in Steeleville, IL and the U. M. W. of A. Local #9905.
Howard served in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1942-1946 during WW II.
Howard loved his family and enjoyed sports, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his: wife: Helen B. Pugh, Steeleville, IL; Daughter, Gloria (Everett) Moore, Steeleville, IL; 2 Grandchildren: Monica Moore and Mary Moore; 3 Great Grandchildren: Bethany Moore, Logan Smith and Samantha Stipe and 2 Great Great Grandchildren: Cobie Moore and Khloe Liter.
Howard is preceded in death by his parents, 7 brothers: Andy, Roy, Walter, Charles, Floyd, Granville and John and 4 sisters: Leona, Fay, Bessie and Thelma.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Cutler with Rev. Curt Rabe officiating. Burial will follow at Cutler Cemetery, Cutler, IL. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, on Monday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday from 7:30 to 9AM and then from 10 to 11AM at the church. Memorials may be made to the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Cutler, IL.Visits: 0
