CAMPBELL HILL - Homer H. Rubach, 97, of Campbell Hill, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at the Mercy Hospital in Washington, Missouri. Homer was born on March 21, 1914 in Campbell Hill, IL to Herman A. and Emma Pinkerton Rubach. He married Jewel M. Rogers on April 17, 1947 in St. Louis, MO. Homer was retired from Egyptian Electric in Steeleville. He was an Army veteran having served during World War II. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Steeleville; a life member of B.B.K. American Legion Post #480, Steeleville; Life Member of Kaskaskia V.F.W. Post #3553, Chester; a life member of the DAV; and past master and life member of the Alma Lodge #497 A.F. & A.M., Steeleville. Homer is survived by his wife, Jewel Rubach of Campbell Hill, IL; two daughters, Sheila (George) Talley of South Pines, NC and Emma (Don) Ritter of Steeleville; one son, Phillip (Judy) Rubach of Union, MO; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; one half brother, Ralph (Jeanette) Rubach of Steeleville; one sister-in-law, Jackie Rubach of Fort Charolette, FL; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Homer was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and three sisters. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Steeleville with Rev. Dr. Alan W. Janneke officiating. Burial will follow in Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville with military graveside services conducted by Kasaskia VFW Post #3553. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Friday with an American Legion service at 8 pm and on Saturday from 7:30 am until 9 am then from 10 to 11 am Saturday at the church. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
