CUTLER, Homer O. "HOB" Bigham, 97, of Cutler, passed away at 7:40 A.M. Thursday, July 23, 2009, at Pinckneyville Health Care Center in Pinckneyville, IL. Homer was born April 10, 1912 in Cutler, Illinois the son of Frank Bigham and Julia (Oglesby) Bigham. He married Ruby E. Reese in January of 1935 in Pinckneyville. She preceded him in death on January 20, 2006. Homer was retired from IDOT in Steeleville. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Chester; A.F. & A.M. Lodge #72 of Chester; Teamsters; UMWA; he was a former precinct committeeman and was active in the Perry County Democratic party; and he also worked for WPA. Homer is survived by three children, Homer L. "Buddy" Bigham of Boaz, AL, Maridee Roth of Arnold, MO and Judith Runge of Murphysboro, IL; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 8 step grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; and one brother, Walter Bigham of Pinckneyville, IL. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Kim Runge; and one grandson, Roy Dale Roth. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 27, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville with Rev. Wesley C. Henson officiating. Burial will follow at Cutler Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville on Sunday from 5:30 pm to 8 pm and on Monday from 7:30 am until the hour of service. Memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospital.
