TILDEN - Herman "Butch" Lueth, Jr., 80, of Tilden, passed away at10:25 A.M. Saturday, July 05, 2008, at Sparta Community Hospital in Sparta, IL. Herman was born January 27, 1928 in Sparta, Illinois, the son of Herman Lueth and Hester (Honey) Lueth. He married Dorothy Jarret on November 6, 1971 in Baldwin, IL. Herman served in the Army for 20 years having served during World War II, the Korean Conflict and Vietnam having attained the rank of E-6. He was retired from Peabody Coal Baldwin Underground mine. Herman was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #2698 in Sparta and was a member of the UMWA. Herman is survived by his wife Dorothy Lueth of Tilden; four children, Tamara Bohley of Largo, FL, Bobbi Jo (John) Helmers of Steeleville, Mark A. Lueth of Texas and Marc J. Lueth of Tilden; three grandsons, Randy Blankenship of Tilden, Greg (Jenny) Triphahn of Vandalia, IL, and Chris Triphahn of Steeleville; two great granddaughters, Stephanie Blankenship and Sarah Triphahn; three brothers, William Lueth of Marietta, GA, Robert Lueth of Steeleville, IL and Victor Lueth of Sparta, IL; and one sister, Ella Mae Waters of Chester, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant daughter, three sisters and five brothers. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Tilden United Presbyterian Church in Tilden with Rev. Dr. Dennis R. Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow at Tilden City Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Tilden United Presbyterian Church on Monday, July 14, 2008 from 6 to 8 pm and on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 from 9 am until 11 am. Memorials may be made to Tilden United Presbyterian Church.
