SPARTA - Henry L. Sauerhage, 60, of Sparta, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at his home. Henry was born in Red Bud, Illinois on May 12, 1954, the son of Ernest and Evelyn Miller Sauerhage. He was a Farmer and was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Sparta. Henry is survived by his sons, Casey (Christine) Sauerhage of Sparta and Josh (Shelbie) Sauerhage of Sparta; two granddaughters, Shannon and Isabella Sauerhage; his ex-wife, Sandy Sauerhage of Sparta; sister, Barbara (Floyd) Koester of Evansville, IL; sisters-in-law, Cheryl Teal and Barbara Sauerhage. Henry was preceded in death by his parents; two infant sons; three brothers, Adrien, Robert and Paul Sauerhage; one nephew, Brian Sauerhage; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Enos and Fred Cole; and his brother-in-law, Billy Cole. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville with Rev. Bruce Cameron officiating. Burial will follow in Percy Village Cemetery, Percy, Illinois. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 6 pm until 8 pm Tuesday and on Wednesday from 7:30 am until 10:00 am. Memorials may be given to a Love Fund for the Family.
