CHESTER – Helen M. Wilson, 80, of Chester, passed away at 12:52 pm, Saturday, March 25, 2017, at the Sparta Community Hospital in Sparta, Illinois.
Helen was born in Campbell Hill, Illinois on May 6, 1936, the daughter of Ernest F. and Clara Hornbostel Ehlers. She married Edgar Wilson on December 6, 1952 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Campbell Hill. She was a Homemaker and a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Steeleville.
Helen is survived by her husband, Edgar Wilson of Chester; three sons, Jim (Denise) Wilson of Chester, Eddie (Sandy) Wilson of Sparta, and Rodney (Rhonda) Wilson of Steeleville; grandchildren, Jeremy Wilson (Kraiten Franklin), Desirae Wilson (Jerry Ball), Sherry Wilson (Fiancee, Shawn Moore), Nick Wilson, Brandon Wilson (Fiancee, Erin Landgraf), Heather (Greg) Schilling, Ryan Wilson, Reid Wilson and Rachel Wilson; great grandchildren, Haley and Hayden Haslett, Elizabeth Wilson, Lila and Leo Wilson, and Eli Schilling; four brothers, Ernest (Katherine) Ehlers of Campbell Hill, Roy (Pat) Ehlers of Campbell Hill, Ray (Alice) Ehlers of Campbell Hill, Melvin (Marty) Ehlers of Campbell Hill; one sister, Pauline Welty of Sparta, and sister-in-law, Grace Ehlers of Campbell Hill.
Helen was preceded in death by her Parents; three brothers, Wilbert Ehlers, LeRoy Ehlers, Ferdnan Ehlers; one sister, Esther Ehlers; one brother-in-law, Dale Welty; and one granddaughter, Reanna Wilson.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville with Debra J. Rathert, Lay Minister officiating. Burial will follow at Paradise Cemetery in Steeleville. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 5 pm until 8 pm Tuesday and on Wednesday from 7:30 am until 10 am. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or Randolph County Humane Society.
