STEELEVILLE – Helen L. Nagel, 99, of Steeleville, passed away January 3, 2021, at Cedar Hurst of Sparta, in Sparta, Illinois.

Helen was born October 29, 1921 in Campbell Hill, IL to Theodore and Anna (Sickmeyer) Kueker.  She married Elmer W. Nagel on June 7, 1941in Campbell Hill, IL.  He preceded her in death November 9, 1985.  Helen was a Homemaker.  She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Steeleville, IL, and B.B.K. American Legion Auxiliary Post 480, Steeleville, IL. Helen enjoyed working with the food pantry, all stars, bible class and being a Sunday school teacher all at Peace Lutheran Church. She also enjoyed being a Girl Scout Leader, participating in her children's school activities, sewing, quilting and crafting.

Helen is survived by her children; Allan (MaryAnn) Nagel of Steeleville, IL, and MaryAnn (Dennis) Ernsting of Sparta, IL, Daughter-in-law, Barbara Nagel of Niceville, FL. Seven Grandchildren and fifteen Great Grandchildren.

Helen was also preceded in death by her Parents, one Son, Gary and one Sister, Norma Knop.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville with Parrish Assistant Minister Julie Posth officiating.  Burial to follow.  Visitation will be held at 12:30 pm at Paradise Cemetery.  Memorials may be given to Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville or Steeleville American Legion Auxiliary and can be mailed to Wilson Funeral Home, P.O.
