Obituary

CUTLER – Helen Elaine Moskodauz, 81, of Cutler, IL, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Carbondale Memorial Hospital, Carbondale, IL.

Helen was born June 13, 1944, in Oraville, IL the daughter of James and Marjorie (Skidmore) Wynn. She was a devoted member of the Tri-County First Pentecostal Church of Cutler, IL, for over 50 years.

Helen was known as “Sis Helen” in Cutler and all the surrounding communities, where she was everyone’s babysitter at some point. She enjoyed sitting outside in the sun, reading her Bible and always having a cup of coffee in her hand.

She was such a strong little woman who fought hard. Helen was a prayer warrior who prayed daily for protection and guideness over all her family and friends. Knowing Helen was a true blessing. She was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.

Helen is survived by her children: Rick (Sandy) Moskodauz of Sebring, FL, and Vickie (Jim) Ruby of Willisville, IL; her granddaughter, Daesha (Ivan) O’Bryan of Ava, IL, her great grandchildren: Ashtyn, Owen and Scottie.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, James and Larry, and her sister, Linda Shockley.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026, 1:00 pm, at Tri-County Pentecostal Church, Cutler, IL, with Rev. Billy Pendergrass officiating. Burial to follow at Cutler Cemetery, Cutler, IL. Visitation will be Thursday morning, May 7, 2026, where friends may call from 11:00 am until time of service at the church. Memorials may be given to Cutler Cemetery and can be mailed to Wilson’s Funeral Home, P.O. Box 217, Steeleville, IL 62288.
