IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Helen Louise
Mileur
August 25, 1937 – April 22, 2024
MURPHYSBORO – Helen "Louise" Mileur, 86, of Murphysboro, IL passed away on April 22, 2024, at home, surrounded in the love of her husband and children.
Louise was born in Sandridge, IL on August 25th, 1937, to Raymond and Margaret (Gill) Weston. She married her one true love Murl "Coonie" Franklin Mileur at the First Lutheran Church in Murphysboro, on September 11th, 1954. They would have celebrated 70 years of marriage this year.
Together they raised and loved their seven children: Raymond Leon Mileur (Anne), Kevin Dale Mileur, Deborah Kay Mileur, Joyce Elaine Fisher (John), Barbara Jean Mileur, Melba Joan Ziegler (Jay), Monique Renee Tunison (Greg). Sixteen Grandchildren, ten Great Grandchildren, numerous friends of their children, and family friends that now also call them Granny and Papa Coonie.
Louise was a member of Christ Community Church, Past President of Aglow Women's Fellowship, and a Sunday School Teacher, she organized and led many spiritual retreats and fellowship meals, including Glory Weekends, where she could be known to write and perform silly skits for everyone's entertainment.
Miles and miles of traveling across this world have been enjoyed by Louise and Coonie along with their family and friends. From camping trips to California where, on their first trip out west with 5 kids they spent $148.45 on gas and camping fees for the entire trip, to travels to Jerusalem, France, Germany, Jamacia, Mexico, and multiple cruises, with friends and family. Some of her favorite trips were the Going to the Sun Road in Glacier National Park, Estes Park, and the Oregon Coast, and their never ending "ONE Last Trip Out West" at least 8 times.
Our Mom had a love for the Lord, her family, everything roses, traveling, motorcycle rides/trips, camping, her 69 Photo Albums (all before digital photos were around), and Granny Days on Lesser Scaup Pond. One thing Louise wanted everyone to remember and live by is "Memories are the campfires that warm your heart in the winter seasons of your life."
Besides her Husband, Children, Grand and Great Grandchildren, Louise is also survived by her Brother-in-Laws Bernard W. Mileur (Faye), and Bill Johnson, along with many, many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family and loved ones that are just too numerous to count.
She is preceded in Death by: Parents Raymond & Margaret Weston, In-Laws Leon "Abe" & Arah Mileur, Sisters: Thelma Thompson, Imogene Lee, Elaine Gerstenschlager-Johnson, and Bonnie Weston, Brothers LaVern & Dale Weston, Sister-In-Laws Joan (Mileur) Gale-Wassing, Vera Weston, Betty Weston & Granddaughter Emily Gipson.
