CHESTER – Helen B. Korando, 93, of Chester, passed away at 4:25 am, Monday, December 11, 2017 at Three Springs Lodge, Chester.

Helen was born in Raddle, Illinois, on March 5, 1924, the daughter of Martin F. and Dorothea M. Schlimpert Brunkhorst.  Helen was a retired LPN from the Jackson County Health Department.  She was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church, Chester.

Helen is survived by one son and two daughters-in-law, Larry E. (Mary) Korando of Chester and Arlean Korando of Chester; four grandchildren; many great grandchildren; great great grandson, Koda; and one sister, Florence Homan of Murphysboro.

Helen was preceded in death by her Parents; one son, Michael; two sisters, Lydia Cross and Lenora Hinchcliff; and four brothers, Ralph Brunkhorst, John Brunkhorst, Elmer Brunkhorst and Harold Brunkhorst. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, December 14, 2017, at Ava Evergreen Cemetery in Ava, with Rev. Phillip Keeton officiating.  Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call from 5 pm until 8 pm Wednesday and Thursday from 7:30 am until 9:30 am.  Memorials may be given to Peace Lutheran Church, Chester.
