STEELEVILLE, Helen Holm, 93, of Steeleville, passed away at 3:50 PM Saturday, October 25, 2014, at Randolph County Care Center in Sparta, Illinois. She was born June 13, 1921 in Steeleville, Illinois the daughter of Henry F. and Anna (Gerberding) Alms. Helen married John H. Holm on April 26, 1947 in Steeleville, IL. He passed away on October 9, 1980. Helen was retired from World Color Press in Sparta, IL. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, BBK Post #480 American Legion Auxiliary and the Steeleville Eagles. She is survived by her: daughter: Karen (Marvin) Laurente, Bakersfield, CA; Grandchildren: Michelle (Rex) Richerson, Houston, TX, Scott (Lisa) Laurente, Bakersfield, CA and Kristin Laurente (Matthew Pickner), Washington, D.C.; 6 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Granddaughter; 3 Sisters-in-Law: Lois Alms, Hilda Alms and Ioan Alms. Helen is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Helen is preceded in death by her parents and 3 Brothers. Helen's wishes were for cremation. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 11:30 AM at St. Mark's Lutheran Church Steeleville, Illinois with Rev. Dr. Alan W. Janneke officiating. Private Interment will be in Paradise Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
