WILLISVILLE - Helen Gendron, 83, of Willisville, IL, passed away at 7:05 pm, Monday, January 6, 2014 at the Franklin Hospital in Benton, IL. Helen was born in Cutler, Illinois, on April 5, 1930, the daughter of Frances W. and Katherine Griffiths Hardy. She married Albert "Bill" Gendron in January of 1948 in Arkansas. He passed away December 7, 2004. She was a homemaker. Helen is survived by two sons, Tom (Cindy) Gendron of Pinckneyville, IL and Warren (Kathy) Gendron of Cutler; one daughter, Tracy (Terry)Gearhardt of Murphysboro; one daughter-in-law, Marty Gendron of Cutler; and one son-in-law, Richard Dammermann of Willisville; 11 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild. Helen was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Harpo; one daughter, Judy Dammermann; one brother, Gene Hardy; and one great granddaughter, Taylor Gendron. Funeral service will be held at 7:30 pm, Thursday, January 9, 2014 at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Percy with Rev. Rick McNeeley officiating. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Percy, where friends may call from 5 pm to 7:30 pm Thursday. Memorials may be given to St. Jude's Children Hospital.
