STEELEVILLE - Hazel M. Jeffers, 81, of Steeleville, passed away at 12:10 am, Sunday, June 7, 2015 at her home in Steeleville. Hazel was born in Coulterville, Illinois on January 14, 1934, the daughter of Harry and Ethel Koffman Shubert. She married Gerald J. Jeffers on June 18, 1952 at Steeleville. He preceded her in death on February 8, 2007. Hazel was a member of the Steeleville Baptist Church in Steeleville. She was the former secretary of Steeleville Baptist Church. Hazel is survived by her children, Romie (Cheryl) Jeffers of Steeleville, Joanne (Mark) Wittenborn of Shiloh Hill, and Crystal Jeffers of Steeleville; 19 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and a sister, Gloria McCloy of Brighton, CO. Hazel was also preceded in death by her Parents; one grandson, Timothy; one great granddaughter, Makayla Rose and one great grandson, Lucas. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 13, 2015 at the Steeleville Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Scott Foshie and Rev. Richard Newcom officiating. Burial will follow at Steeleville City Cemetery. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 5 pm until 8 pm Friday and on Saturday from 7:30 am until 9 am then from 10 am until 11 am at the church. Memorials may be given to Steeleville Baptist Church Building Fund.
