CHESTER, Harold Wayne Butler, 82, of Chester, passed away at 7:05 P.M. Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at Three Springs Lodge in Chester, IL. He was born December 21, 1927 in Urbana, Illinois the son of Frank Butler and Myrtle (Stoffel) Butler. Harold married Elvera Knipping Hartmann on August 31, 1968 at Steeleville, IL; she passed away on July 21, 2006. He is survived by his children: Charlotte and Jerry Lemberger of Manitowoc, WI, Mike and Terry Butler of Livermore, CA; daughter-in-law: Emily Amelia Butler of Mankato, MN, Terry and Angelina Butler of Madison, WI; one step son Larry and Shirley Hartmann of Steeleville, IL; ten grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren. He served in the U.S. Army during World War IL; he was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Steeleville as well as Kaskaskia V.F.W. Post #3553 Chester, IL, and the B.B. K. American Legion Post #480 Steeleville, IL. He was retired from Gilster Mary-Lee Corp. Harold was preceded in death by his parents and one son, David Butler. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 11, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Steeleville. Rev. Dr. Alan W. Janneke will be officiating. Burial will be at St. Mark's Lutheran Cemetery in Steeleville, IL Visitation will be on Monday from 10am until 2pm at St. Mark's Lutheran Church Memorials may be made to St. Mark's Building Fund.
