VALIER – Harlan W. Jones, 80, of Valier, passed away at 7:45 pm, Saturday, July 29, 2023, at the Marshall Browning Hospital in DuQuoin.

Harlan was born in Pinckneyville, Illinois, on September 13, 1942, the son of Winford and Ruth Bigham Jones. He married Phyllis Rednour on January 27, 1962. Harlan was a retired Small Business Owner.  He was a member of the Abundant Life Church in Benton.

Harlan is survived by his wife, Phyllis Jones of Valier; three sons, Mark Jones of Portland, OR, Stuart (Christina) Jones of Milwaukee, WI, and Carey (Melinda) Jones of Portland, OR; grandchildren, Alexis, Brandyn, Alana, Marcus and Ashley; great grandson, Brayden; and one sister, Patsy West of Moline, IL.

Harlan was preceded in death by his Parents; one daughter, Sherry Bernaix; and three brothers, Russell, Mike and Harry Jones; and one sister, Wanda Spangler.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at 1:00 pm, at Abundant Life Church in Benton, with Rev. Chris Hammonds and Rev. Bob Spangler officiating. Burial will follow at Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at Abundant Life Church in Benton from 11 am until 1 pm. Memorials may be given to UPCI Global Missions.
