Gregory Scot Edwards AVA, Gregory Scot Edwards, 31, of Ava, passed away at 6:20 P.M. Sunday, July 20, 2008, at Barnes- Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was born December 26, 1976 in Chester, Illinois the son of Thomas Eugene Edwards and Connie (Dagner) Edwards. Greg married LeRae M. Jones on December 12, 2003 in Murphysboro, Illinois. He worked as an Ironworker for Edwards Steel. He also was a volunteer for the Ava Fire Department and a member of the Ironworkers Local #392 in East St. Louis,IL. Greg is survived by his wife LeRae Edwards of Ava, IL,one son; Keatton Edwards of Ava,IL, Father; Thomas Eugene Edwards of Ava, IL, Two brothers; Patrick Edwards of Murphysboro, IL and Christopher Edwards of Ava, IL,Maternal Grandmother; Betty Dagner of Murphysboro, IL,Paternal Grandparents; Glen and Caroline Edwards of Ava, IL, Mother-in-law and Father-in-law; Albert and Julie Gale of Murphysboro, IL, Sisters-in-law; Ashley Gale Murphysboro, IL and Erin (Tyler)Camfield and son of DeSoto, IL,Father-in-law; Larry Jones of Dunlap, IL Wifes Grandparents; Ruth Wright of Murphysboro, IL and Oakley Gale of Ava, IL. He was preceded in death by his mother Connie Edwards and Maternal Grandfather Howard Dagner. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava. Rev. Clayton Yoakum will be officiating Burial will be at Ava Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava on Tuesday where, friends may call from 6-8 PM and then on Wednesday from 7:30 until the hour of service. The preferred form of remembrance is to a Trust Fund for Keatton or to the American Cancer Society.
