MURPHYSBORO – Gloria Bernadine Stein, 90, of Sparta, and formally of Murphysboro, passed away at 11 PM, Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at the Randolph County Care Center, Sparta.

Gloria was born on July 4, 1928, in Murphysboro, to Thomas L. and Mary Ethel (Cluster) Hall. She graduated from Murphysboro Township High School and had worked at Lustour Corp. She married Karl G. Fulmer on September 4, 1947, they were divorced. On July 16, 1966, she married John H. Stein. He preceded her in death on November 29, 1993. Gloria was of the Catholic faith and attended St. Ann's in Raddle, and St. Andrew's in Murphysboro.

She is survived by one daughter, Janet K. (John) Drueke, of Sparta; on son, Carl G. Fulmer of Vergennes; one step-daughter, B. Marlene (Jeff) Baker of Sparta; and four step-sons; Robert (Marilyn) Stein of Garden City, Kansas; Thomas (Suzie) Stein of Oraville; John (Lisa) Stein of Murphysboro and Wade (Sandy) Stein of Ava. Also, surviving are five grandsons; Stephen J Drueke of Highland; Ryan J (Rachel) Drueke of Cumming, GA; Gabriel T (Artemis) Drueke of Smithton; Zachariah and Jacob Fulmer of St. Petersburg, FL; 9 great grandchildren, 17 step-grandchildren, brother, Bernard (Sue) Hall of Crossville, TN, nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, sisters; Irene Wall, Beatrice Taylor, June Reichrath, Mary Heath, and Bonnie Czaicki, brothers; Warren, Thomas, George and, Robert.

Per her wishes she will be cremated and there will be no services. Anyone wanting to make a memorial may do so in her name to the Humane Society of Southern Illinois, 95 Humane Road, Murphysboro, IL 62966. Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava is assisting the family with the arrangements.
