Obituary

CUTLER – Gloria Jean Caby, 81, of Cutler, IL, passed away Monday, July 25, 2022, at her son's home in Steeleville, Illinois.

Gloria was born July 27, 1940, in Pinckneyville, IL, to Van K. and Hilda Mae Caby. Gloria was a member of Cutler Pentecostal Church and worked for MCA (Decca) Records from late 1970's to 1980, in Pinckneyville, IL. She was the first volunteer Lady Firefighter in Cutler, IL, and an EMT on the ambulance service. Gloria worked at Fair Acres Nursing Home in DuQuoin, IL, for a few years as a CNA, she then sold Health & Life Insurance for a couple of years and then decided to move to Nashville, TN, where she began selling cars. Gloria became Manager of Budget Rent-a-Car at the Nashville Airport and was one of their top rental agents. She had many good friends in Nashville including many country music stars. After 15 years in Nashville, she decided to move back to Marion, IL, to be closer to family. Upon the death of her youngest son Larry, she moved back to Cutler, IL, and started United Ironworker's with her son, Kim. Gloria retired a few years ago and spent much of her time going to yard sales, flea markets, and hanging out with her friends. She loved her Shih tzu's, Coco, Shadow, and Stormy. Gloria never met a stranger. She treated everybody as a friend, and it did not matter if you were rich, poor, homeless, black, or white. To her everyone was a friend, and she would love to talk to them. Gloria lived a long and happy life and will be forever missed but never forgotten.

Gloria is survived by her son, Kim (Brandy) Rasnick of Steeleville, IL, her daughter, Angela (Mark) Dillinger of Carterville, IL, grandchildren: Dustin Rasnick, Amanda Jones, Jessica (Adam) Graff, Drake, Haylee and Jaycee Smith, Royce and Nicole Rasnick; great grandchildren: Kamdyn and Rhianna Rasnick, Bracyi Graff; siblings: Bob (Sandy) Caby, Jim (Judy) Caby, Cathy Caby, Lynn Caby, Bruce Caby, Vanessa Wilson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
