STEELEVILLE – Gloria Brandhorst Miller, 89, of Alamo, TX, formerly of Steeleville, IL, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at her home.
Gloria was born on June 24, 1937, in Mulkeytown, IL, to Homer L. and Gladys (Wynn) Young. She married Glenn D. Brandhorst on March 11, 1961 in Cutler, IL. He preceded her in death on September 21, 2013. Gloria married Dewayne Miller in Alamo, TX on April 17, 2021. She was a homemaker, former business owner and sold insurance in the surrounding area. Gloria was a member of Anchor Bible Baptist Church, Pharr, TX.
Gloria is survived by her husband, Dewayne Miller of Alamo, TX, her children: Brenda (Wayne) Sullivan of Sparta, IL, Michael (Dette) Brandhorst of Beckley, WV, Connie (Paul) Dolce of Belleville, IL, Larry (Connie) Brandhorst of Dupo, IL; her grandchildren: Shelley (Terry) Shevlin, Jill (Brian) Sinn, Lacey (Jim) Gardner, Casey (Jamie) Lodge, Tyson (Heather) Lodge, Lori (Shawn) Cowling, Dustin (Candace) Feldmann, Brandt (Jen) Dolce, Heather (Travis) Stroub, April (Eric) Ehlers, Kristen (Korey) Wedemeyer, Laura (Joey) Tuetkim; her 23 great grandchildren, her 4 great great grandchildren, her brother, Jerry (Jackie) Young of Cutler, IL, her sisters-in-law, Sue Young of Steeleville, and Marty Young of Cutler, IL.
Gloria was preceded in death by parents, her brothers, Donald and Brad Young, and her daughter, Glenna Renea Brandhorst.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, 11:00 am, at Wilson’s Funeral Home, Steeleville, IL, with Rev. Jared Pemper officiating. Burial to follow at Cutler Cemetery, Cutler, IL. Visitation will be Thursday morning, July 16, 2026, where friends may call from 9:00 am, until time of service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Hospice, and can be mailed to Wilson’s Funeral Home, P.O. Box 217, Steeleville, IL 62288.
