STEELEVILLE – Glen D. "Brownie" Brown, 79, of Steeleville, passed away at 10:10 PM, Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the Coulterville Care Center in Coulterville.
Glen was born on November 16, 1936 in St. Genevieve, MO, the son of Garlin and Lillian (Cox) Brown. He served in the US Navy. Glen married Mary C. "Connie" Pribble on April 29, 1955 in Indianapolis, IN, and they shared 61 years of marriage together. Brownie was a retired heavy equipment mechanic. He was a former member of the Steeleville Eagles.
Glen is survived by his wife; Connie Brown, of Steeleville, 4 children; Sandra Hart, of Olathe, KS, M. Belinda (Mike) Slusher, of Houston, TX, Wade Brown, of Brazoria, TX, and Jason (Kelly) Brown, of Perryville, MO. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, 1 sister; Shirley Brant, of Brazoria, TX, 2 half-sisters; Sherry Hiser, of Brazoria TX, and Terry McCarthy, of Brazoria, TX, and 1 half-brother; Mike McCarthy, of Brazoria, TX.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Thursday, November 10, 2016 at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville with Pastor Derek Dorian officiating, burial will follow at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the funeral home where friends may call from 11 AM to 1 PM. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
