STEELEVILLE – Gladys W. Stark, 84, of Steeleville, passed away Monday, January 9, 2023, at her home, with family by her side, in Steeleville, Illinois.

Gladys was born in Oxford, England, on August 1, 1938, the daughter of Sidney and Beatrice (Wood) McMaster. She married Ray D. Stark, in Belleville, IL, he has preceded her in death. Gladys was a homemaker and did care taking and house cleaning services in the community. She was of the Protestant faith.

Gladys is survived by her daughters: Sharon (Gary) Hepp of Steeleville, IL, Roberta Stark of Lenzburg, IL, Ghillaine Weck of Spring Branch, TX; grandchildren: Tanis & Freddie Miller, Jamie Pearson, Jocelyn Stark & Brandon Contratto, Nicholas Parks, Hugh Weck; great grandchildren: Irelyn, Britton, Raenyn, Fynn, Braxton, Ryder; sister, Gloria Langland of Aurora, CO, several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Gladys is also preceded in death by her parents, her siblings: Ian McMaster, Joyce Vieth, Frank McMaster, Gordon McMaster, and her niece, Tina McMaster.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 1:00 pm, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, with Rev. Zach Furlong officiating. Friends may call from 11:00 am to 1:00. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Maple Creek Hospice.
