STEELEVILLE - Gladys L. O'Neal, 82, of Steeleville, passed away at 11:08 pm, Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at the St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Gladys was born in Sandoval, IL on November 6, 1929, the daughter of Levi and Nora Garren Schossler. She married James E. O'Neal on June 26, 1947 in Sandoval, IL. Gladys was retired from Dr. L C Fiene, MD office in Sparta, IL. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Sandoval, IL and also the Medical Assistant's Club of Randolph County, IL. Gladys is survived by her husband, James E. O'Neal of Steeleville; three children, Nikki Lee of Steeleville, Ray O'Neal of Wentzville, MO and LeRoy (Susan) O'Neal of Carterville, IL; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and one sister. Mrs. O'Neal's wishes were to be cremated. A private family service will follow at a later date. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association. Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville is in charge of arrangements.
