PERCY – Gladys L. Bayer, 92, of Percy, passed away at 2:40 am, Sunday, November 3, 2019, at Randolph County Care Center, Sparta.

Gladys was born in Willisville, Illinois, on April 13, 1927, the daughter of the late Fritz and Alma Thies Gerberding.  She married Uhe Bayer at Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville, on November 17, 1961.  He preceded her in death on June 26, 1994.  Gladys was a Homemaker and was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville.  She liked to go to yard sales.

Gladys is survived by one son, Steven (Martha) Wydeck of Steeleville; step daughters, Deborah (Roger) Reiman of Ava, and Betty (Jake) Clinton of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; step daughter-in-law, Ramona Bayer of Steeleville; 7 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

Gladys was preceded in death by her Parents; two husbands, Robert Wydeck and Uhe Bayer; one step son, Dean; one grandson; and one brother, Vernon Gerberding.

Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at 11:00 am, at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville, with Rev. Brad Geary officiating.  Burial will follow.  Visitation will be on Wednesday at Wilson's Funeral Home, Percy, from 9 am until 10:45 am.  Memorials may be given to the Alzheimers Association or National Kidney Research.
