AVA – Geraldine E. Speith, 92, of Ava, passed away at 1:50 am, Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at the Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.

Geraldine was born in Jacob, Illinois on February 5, 1924, the daughter of Marvin and Ina Saul Easton.  She married George H. Speith on November 6, 1950 at Ava.  He preceded her in death on June 27, 2006.  She was a Homemaker and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ava.

Geraldine is survived by one son, Robert (Tammy) Speith of Covington, TN; daughter-in-law, Lorraine Speith of Ava; son-in-law, James Williamson of Rosiclare, IL; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; 8 step grandchildren; 1 step great grandchild; and two sisters, Julia Combs of Warrenton, MO and Ruth Throop of Willisville.

Geraldine was also preceded in death by her Parents; one son, George; one daughter, Linda Williamson; three brothers; and one sister.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava with Rev. Jim Easton officiating.  Burial will follow at Ava Evergreen Cemetery in Ava, Illinois.  Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call from 11 am until 1 pm Saturday.  Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church in Ava.
