PERCY, Geraldine E. "Geri" Gardner, 91, of Percy, passed away at 10:00 PM Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at Randolph County Care Center in Sparta, Illinois. She was born July 28, 1924 in Sparta, Illinois the daughter of Otis C. and Ruth (Mann) Langwith. Geraldine married Willard H. (Cotton) Gardner on April 11, 1946 in Piggott, Arkansas. He passed away on April 14, 2002.

Geraldine was a retired Beautician. She was in the U.S. Army (WACS) during WWII. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Percy. Geraldine was also a member of the Red Hatters Club, Percy American Legion Post #1145 and Sparta VFW #2698.

She is survived by her daughters: Sue (Don) Young, Steeleville, IL and Mary Rosendohl, Percy, IL; Grandchildren: Alicia (Scott) Simms, Willisville, Cale Young (Terri Beth Wingerter), Chester, IL, Cole Young (Melissa Fulkrod), Steeleville, IL and Corey Young (Christina Feltes), Steeleville, IL and one Great Grandson, Tyson Simms, Willisville, IL.

Geraldine is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Sisters, Dorothy Sims, Virginia Owen, Norma Lohman and Patsy Hormann Jones and Brothers: Edward Langwith, Robert Langwith and Wesley Cole, Jr.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Wilson's Funeral Home Percy, Illinois with Rev. Marvin "Bud" Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at Caledonia Cemetery, Sparta, IL. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Percy, where friends may call on Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 7:30am to 10:30am. Memorials may be made to Auxiliary of Memorial Hospital in Chester or Steeleville Senior Citizens.
