SPARTA, Gerald P. "Guet" Guetersloh, 70, of Sparta, passed away peacefully in his sleep at 12:39 AM Saturday, July 12, 2014 in Sparta, IL. He was born August 1, 1943 in Jacob, Illinois the son of William and Cora (Hornbostel) Guetersloh. Gerald was a retired from Illinois Power Company in Sparta, IL. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Sparta and a member of I.B.E.W. local 702 of West Frankfort. He is survived by his cherished wife of 42 years and they will be together forever: Leria Guetersloh; Son: Jeffrey Guetersloh; Daughter: Jill & Jim Hennrich; Grandchildren: Jimmy, Jessica and Brooke and Great Grandchildren: Savannah and Scott. Gerald is also survived by a Brother: Rev. Ralph Guetersloh; 2 Sisters: Ruby Renner and Barbara Sanders and Nephew, Mike Guetersloh and all their families. Gerald is preceded in death by his parents, 1 Son, Todd, and 1 Brother, Howard. Private funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Wilson's Funeral Home Ava, Illinois with Rev. Ralph Guetersloh officiating. Burial will follow at Glenn Cemetery, Jacob, IL. Public Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call from 5 to 8 Monday and on Tuesday from 7:30 to 10:30am. Memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran School or Glenn Cemetery.
