CHESTER – Gerald "Ozzie" Baughman, 79, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at his home in Chester, Illinois.

Gerald was born on August 21, 1944, in Chester, IL, the son of Lawrence and Florence (Haacke) Baughman. He married Linda Stortz on July 22, 2005, in Chester, IL. Gerald was retired from Chester Mental Health and was of the Lutheran faith. He was an avid outdoorsman, loving camping, hunting, fishing, and collecting Indian artifacts.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Linda Baughman of Chester, IL, his daughter, Melissa Baughman of Chester, IL, grandson Ethan Baughman, great grandson, Liam Greer, nephews: Mike Baughman of Perryville, MO, Jeff Baughman of Perryville, MO, Mikie Baughman of Chester, IL, and Travis Baughman of Chester, IL.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ardell Baughman, and Gene Baughman.

Gerald's wishes were for cremation and a private service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be given to Randolph County Humane Society, c/o Wilson's Funeral Home, PO Box 277, Ava, IL, 62907.
