STEELEVILLE - George L. James, 70, of Steeleville, passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at the Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, MO. George was born in Rockwood, IL on September 7, 1942 the son of Thomas and Lillian Zang James. He married Donna S. Trucano on October 5, 1963 in Steeleville, IL. George was retired from World color Press, Inc. in Sparta and was of the Protestant Faith. He was a veteran of the US Army, having served during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of the B.B.K. American Legion Post #480, Steeleville and the Kaskaskia V.F.W. Post #3553 of Chester. George is survived by his wife, Donna James of Steeleville; his children, Neil (Gina) James of O'Fallon, IL and Christina Stearns of Steeleville; and his grandchildren, Kylie, Mackenzie and A.J. George was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral service will be at 10:30 am, Friday, October 26, 2012 at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville with Rev. Peter Ill officiating. Burial will follow in Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Thursday with an American Legion service held at 8 pm under auspicies of B.B.K. American Legion Post #480, Steeleville and on Friday from 7:30 am until the hour of service. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association or Shriners Hospital for Children.
