PINCKNEYVILLE - George Warren Crews, 85, of Pinckneyville, formerly of Murphysboro, IL, passed away at 8:50 am, Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at home in Pinckneyville. George was born in Hurst, IL on July 19, 1929, the son of Warren Randolph and Jennie Lucile Patrick Crews. He married Evelyn Weil of October 20, 1950 at Bethel Methodist Church in Vergennes, IL. She preceded him in death on September 10, 2009. George was a Farmer. He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Vergennes, IL and the Jackson County Farm Bureau. George is survived by six children, Brenda (Allen) Yates of Elkville, IL, Gwen (Don) Bigham of Pinckneyville, Doug Crews of Pinckneyville, Lisa (Dan) Flowers of Red Bud, IL, Eric Crews of Murphysboro and Greg Crews of Murphysboro; seven grandchildren, Emily Yates, Matt Yates, Dustin Crews, Brieanna Burris, Sara Bigham, Erica Crews and Jacob Crews; and six great grandchildren. George was also preceded in death by his Parents; one son, David Crews; and one sister, Patsy Reiman. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, November 9, 2014 at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava with Rev. William Stoklosa officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Memorial Park, Murphysboro. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call on Sunday from Noon until 2 pm. Memorials may be given to Central Cemetery or the American Cancer Society.
