PERCY, Gene Goetting, 80, of Percy, passed away at 2:45 P.M. Saturday, November 13, 2010, at Three Springs Lodge in Chester, IL. He was born February 15, 1930 in Campbell Hill, Illinois the son of Albert Goetting and Mathilda (Ehlers) Goetting. Gene married June Fuhrhop on February 2, 1958 in Steeleville, Illinois. He is survived by his wife June Fuhrhop of Percy, IL; daughters: Holly Williams of Percy, IL, Melody Wittenborn and special friend (Larry Cairns) of Campbell Hill, IL, Stacey and Dale Yates of Percy, IL and Kelly and Jason Brown of Perryville, MO; eight grandchildren: Jeff Williams, Rachael and Chad Reeder, Misty and Brian Edwards, Jason and Jacki Wittenborn, Sean Cairns, Josh Cairns, Shannon and (Timmy Queen) Yates Lindsay and special friend (Tony LaVallee) Yates, Shane Brown, and Leslie Brown; Great grandchildren: Kayla, Brenden, Jade, Rily, Ryan, Tyler, Kasey, Ethan, Draven, Landen and Kaisen; sister: Jeannine Gale of Ava, IL. Gene is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Carol Clark, two son-in-laws, Larry Williams and Dennis Wittenborn, Brother-in-law, Bill Gale. Mr. Goetting served in the U.S. Air Force, during the Korean Conflict. He also worked as an Iron worker. He was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville, Alma Lodge #497, Steeleville, American Legion Post #1096 Campbell Hill, NRA, and the Iron Worker Union Local #396, East St. Louis. Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville. Pastor Steve Kiem will be officiating. Burial will be at Percy Village Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville on Saturday from 1:00pm until the hour of service. Memorials may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society or Juvenile Diabetes Foundation .
