STEELEVILLE, Gary Warren McDonnough, 69, of Steeleville, passed away at 12:20 PM Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Gary was born December 2, 1944 in Pinckneyville, Illinois the son of William Paul and Velma (Pursell) McDonnough. He married Judith A. Karlechik on September 3, 1971 in Belleville, IL. Gary owned Tri-County Distributing from May 1980 to June 1987 then worked for Bear's Distributing where he was a District Sales Representative for 23 year till he retired. Gary served in the United States Air Force from September 1966 to August of 1970. He attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. Gary served in Southeast Asia from February 1967 of March 1969. Gary was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Steeleville. He was a member of BBK American Legion Post #480 in Steeleville where he served as the Commander twice. He was a life member of Kaskaskia V.F. W. Post #3553 in Chester. Gary was a Pinckneyville Panthers Sports Fan. He also loved his pets. He is survived by his: wife: Judith A. McDonnough, Steeleville, IL; 3 Sisters: Mary B. Sanders, St. Louis, MO; Brenda C. Brueske, Billingham, WA and Patricia A. Lindner, Cape Girardeau, MO. Gary is also survived by Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Great Nephews. Gary is preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister and 5 brothers. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 6, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Mark's Lutheran Church Steeleville, Illinois with Rev. Dr. Alan W. Janneke officiating. Burial will follow at Jefferson Barracks Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home on Sunday where friends may call from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday from 9 to 10am at the church. The American Legion Service will be Sunday at 8PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or the Alzheimer's Association.
