JACOB – Gary L. Hollmann, 78, of Jacob,IL passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at home surrounded by his family.

Gary was born in Murphysboro, IL on February 13, 1945 to Herbert Leo and Erna Eckert Hollmann. He married his high school sweetheart, Laura Taylor on July 25, 1964. Gary retired from CIPS in Grand Tower, IL He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Jacob, where he had served as both the chairman and elder of the church.  He had served on the board of Fountain Bluff Township and of Jacob Community Center.  Gary also coached Jacob's Mon-Clair baseball team for many years.  He was a faithful man that loved God, baseball, golf and spending time with his family.

Gary is survived by his wife, Laura Hollmann of Jacob, IL; three children: Pam (Rick) Glidewell of Wentzville, MO, Tim (Darla) Hollmann of Red Bud, IL, and Kelly (Jon) Brickner of O'Fallon, MO; sister, Janice Hollmann of Gorham, IL; sister in law, Joann Hollmann of Jacob, IL.

Eight grandchildren:  T.J. (Marilynn) Glidewell, Jonathan Glidewell, Trey Glidewell, Jennifer (Andrew) Langrehr, Emily (Nick) Grohmann, Chelsea Brickner, Zachary Brickner, and Logan Brickner; and 11 great grandchildren: Haley and Holly Glidewell; Liam, Amelia, and Ben Langrehr; Jettson, Demi, Cash, and Crew Grohmann; Paisley and Wessley Thompson

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Leo Hollmann and Erna Heins; stepfather, Corky Heins; sister Bonnie Lee Hollmann; and brother Ty Hollmann.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 11:00 am at Christ Lutheran Church with Rev. Gunnar Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Christ Lutheran Cemetery. The visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava, IL, where friends may call on Friday from 5 pm until 8 pm, and on Saturday from 10 am until 11 am at the church.
