RED BUD - Frieda M. Bockhorn, 96, of Red Bud, formerly of Walsh, IL, passed away 5:40 am, Friday, September 30, 2011 at the Red Bud Nursing Home, Red Bud, IL. Frieda was born July 25, 1915 in Omaha, Nebraska, to Frank J. and Madeline Dickey Landmann. She married Vernon H. Bockhorn on June 18, 1933 at Zion Lutheran Church, Walsh. He passed away December 20, 1984. Frieda was a homemaker. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Walsh and the Zion Lutheran Church Ladies Aid. Frieda is survived by her children, Robert (Sally) Bockhorn of Sun Lake, AZ, Barbara Schrader Ladwig of Red Bud, IL, and Danny (Pauline) Bockhorn of Effingham, IL; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. Frieda is also preceded in death by her parents; two sons: Jimmie Dale and Donald Bockhorn; one sister: Leona Knop; and one brother: Frank Landmann. Funeral service will be held Monday, October 3, 2011 at 11:00 am, at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville with Rev. Harold Weber officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Walsh. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 9 to 11 am Monday. Memorials may be given to the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund or the Zion Lutheran Church General Fund.
