MURPHYSBORO – Freddie Bastien, Jr, 89, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at his home in Murphysboro, Illinois.

Freddie was born on December 21, 1934, in Ora Township, IL, the Fred and Nelvia Ann (Pierson) Bastien, Sr. He married Doris Ann Fielding on February 20, 1954, in Murphysboro, IL. She preceded him in death on June 13, 2023. Freddie was a farmer and had retired from Gilster Mary Lee. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Church, Murphysboro, IL, and the Moose Club in Murphysboro, IL.

Freddie is survived by his sons: Randy (Diana) Bastien of Murphysboro, IL, Ronnie (Buffie) Bastien of Murphysboro, IL, Roger (Deanne) Bastien of Oklahoma; his daughters: Linda S. (Daniel) Tondini of Marion, IL, Kathy Easton of Murphysboro, IL; his 19 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and his sister, Erma Reiman of Benton, IL.

Freddie was also preceded in death by his parents, 2 infant sisters, 2 brothers: Clarence Bastien, William Bastien; 4 sisters: Earline Boucher, Mary Moore, Wilma Reiman and Anna Harris.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024, at 3:00 pm, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, IL, with Pastor Roger Bastien officiating. Burial to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Murphysboro, IL. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, IL, where friends may call on Thursday from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, and on Friday from 7:30 am until time of service.
