CHESTER, Fred J. Meininger, 79, of Chester, passed away at 6:40 P.M. Thursday, July 17, 2008, at Kindred Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Fred was born May 22, 1929 in Oraville, Illinois the son of Fred C. Meininger and Edna (Pugh) Meininger. He married Betty Jane Johnson on July 23, 1949 in Percy, Illinois. She passed away on May 12, 1998. He was a retired electrician for Consol Coal Co- Kellogg Loading Dock. Fred is survived by two daughters; Diana (Douglas) Reeves of Percy,IL and Connie (Kenneth) Bollmann of Chester,IL. Six Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren, one Sister Sharon (Gary) Watson of Sparta, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Meininger was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Bremen; the Chester Senior Citizens and the Chester Eagles. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville. Rev. Edwin A. Reuter will be officiating. Interment will follow at St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery in Bremen, Illinois. Visitation will be at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville, where friends may call from 6 to 8pm Monday and on Tuesday from 7:30 to 10 A.M. Memorials may be made to St. John's Cemetery Fund.
