ROCKWOOD – Frank Allen "Jack" Korando, 87, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at his home in Rockwood, Illinois.

Frank was born on March 23, 1937, in Murphysboro, IL, the son of Frank Andrew and Florence M. (Estel) Korando. He married Maggie Jane Moureau on February 28, 1956, at Christ Lutheran Church, Neunert, IL. Frank was a retired repairman, CIPS, Grand Tower, IL. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Neunert, IL, and Steeleville Ducks Unlimited. Frank loved to garden and being outdoors. He was an avid hunter and loved to fish. Frank was an athlete in high school, playing basketball and baseball, and continued with coaching baseball and women's slow pitch softball. Frank was a hard worker, a good husband, dad, grandfather, great grandfather, and will be greatly missed.

Frank is survived by his wife, Maggie Jane Korando of Rockwood, IL, his children: Frank Lee Korando of Ava, IL, Michelle Korando (Bob Moniger) of Murphysboro, IL, Sheri (Todd) Wilburn of Rockwood, IL; his grandchildren: April (Troy) Erlermeyer, Frankie Albert Korando, Brandi Korando, Katie (Todd) Sidener, Brianne (Jeremy) Phoenix, Seth Wilburn, Kane (Alejandra) Wilburn; eight great grandchildren, and brother-in-law, Alfred Moureau of Chester, sisters-in-law, Doris Calandro of Murphysboro and Patsy Sauer of Murphysboro.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, infant sister, and infant grandson.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 11:00 am, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, IL, with Rev. Gunnar Campbell officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday morning, where friends may call from 9:00 am until time of service at the funeral home. Due to the weather conditions, there will be a private burial following the service at Glenn Cemetery, Rockwood, IL.  Memorials may be given to Christ Lutheran Church, Glenn Cemetery or Hospice of Southern Illinois and can be mailed to Wilson's Funeral Home, P.O.
