PERCY, Floyd E. Ashby, 73, of Percy, passed away at 1:00 A.M. Thursday, April 16, 2009, at his home in Percy, IL. Floyd was born March 4, 1936 in Jamestown, Illinois the son of Herschel Ashby and Lorene (Davis) Ashby. He married Lila L. Fisk on April 6, 1955 in Taylor Center, MI. Floyd retired from General Motor Truck Assembly Plant in St, Louis, MO. He was a member of the Steeleville Bass Club and the Percy Hunt Club. He is survived by his wife Lila Ashby of Percy; four sons: Randy and Connie Ashby of Percy, Illinois, Jerry Ashby of Percy, Illinois, Danny and Janet Ashby of Pinckneyville, Illinois and, Jack and Gail Ashby of Steeleville, Illinois; eight grandchildren; and five half brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, John Conway, and one half brothers. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at 7:00 P.M. at Wilson's Funeral Home in Percy, IL with Rev. Dr. Matthew Jaiah officiating. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Percy on Tuesday from 5 to 7 pm Memorials may be made to Percy Khory League.
