AVA – Everet C. "Gump" Goddard, 91, of Ava, passed away at 7:35 pm, Saturday, September 23, 2023, at the Coulterville Care Center in Coulterville, Illinois.

Everet was born on June 15, 1932, in Vienna, IL, the son of Amos and Mabel Russell Goddard. He married Judith A. Elliott on December 13, 1955 in Springfield, Tennessee. He was a retired Switchman for the Railroad Industries. Everet was a US Navy veteran having served from 1951 until 1955. He attended St. John's Lutheran Church, Post Oak.

Everet is survived by his wife, Judith Goddard; children, Lyn (Kevin) Bame of Murphysboro, Lori (Karl) Dammermann of Ava, and Lisa (Clay) Quillman of Ava; 6 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.

Everet was preceded in death by his Parents; One daughter, Teri; and two brothers, Alvin and Amos Leon.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, with Debra Rathert, Lay Minister officiating. Burial will follow at Ava Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call from 5 pm until 8 pm Tuesday and on Wednesday from 7:30 am until the hour of service.
