STEELEVILLE, Evelyn I. Dierks, 82, of Steeleville, passed away at 1:25 A.M. Sunday, September 18, 2011, at Rehab and Care Center of Jackson County in Murphysboro, IL. She was born September 09, 1929 in Steeleville, Illinois the daughter of Robert Chadderton and Lillie (Wolter) Chadderton. Evelyn married Alvin Ernest Dierks on January 16, 1971 in Steeleville, IL. Alvin passed away on August 22, 1998. She is survived by her step son Myron Dierks of Steeleville, IL; step daughter: Marla and Danny Cowell of Chester, IL; grandchildren: Matt and Rita Cowell of Hoover, AL, Andrea and Jeff Stanek of Phoenix, AZ; great grandchildren: Noah Cowell, Ellie Cowell, Cara Stanek and Abby Stanek; five nieces and nephews: Patricia Chadderton of Steeleville, IL, Betty Chadderton of Steeleville, IL, Bruce and Lisa Chadderton of Swansea, IL, Kim and Kay Chadderton of Steeleville, IL, Rose and Irv Cartwright of Elkville, IL; several great nieces and nephews. Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Vernon and Kenneth Chadderton, two sisters, Dorothy Chadderton and Wilma Heller, one niece, Donna Brenning and one nephew, John Chadderton. She was a retired clerk from Dot's Shoppe in Steeleville, IL. Evelyn was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, St. Mark's Priscilla Club and she enjoyed bowling, golf, and playing cards. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Steeleville. Rev. Dr. Alan W. Janneke will be officiating. Burial will be at Paradise Cemetery in Steeleville, IL. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville on Tuesday from 6 to 8pm and then on Wednesday from 7:30 to 9am and then from 10 to 11am at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church or St. Mark's Lutheran School.
