STEELEVILLE – Eunice Singer, 90, of Steeleville, passed away at 8:46 am, Friday, March 10, 2023, at Coulterville Care Center, Coulterville, Illinois.

Eunice was born in Hackensack, NJ, on August 22, 1932, the daughter of William and Lydia Hansen Athey.  She married Harry R. Singer on September 1, 1956, in E. Stroudsburg, PA. He preceded her in death on April 9, 1998. Eunice was retired from the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville, VFW Post #3553 Auxiliary, Chester, Red Hatters Club, and the Memorial Hospital in Chester Auxiliary. Eunice was the church Organist at Peace Lutheran Church, Chester, and also played at St. John's Lutheran Church, Bremen.

Eunice is survived by one daughter, Patricia Singer of Steeleville and several cousins.

Eunice was also preceded in death by her Parents; step father, Charles Niemeyer; two sisters; and one brother.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville, with Julie Posth, Parrish Ministry Assistant officiating.  Burial will be at a later date in Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville. Visitation will be at Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville, on Tuesday from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm.  Memorials may be given to Peace Lutheran Church.
