MURPHYSBORO – Eugene P. Martin, 81, of Murphysboro, passed away at 2:30 pm, Saturday, August 7, 2021, at his home.

Eugene was born on August 3, 1940, in Jackson County, Illinois, the son of Carl and Daisy Marshall Martin.  He married Della Ruth Morris on October 9, 1962 in Murphysboro.  Eugene was a veteran of the US Navy and a retired Brakeman from the Railroad.

Eugene is survived by his wife, Della Martin of Murphysboro; son, Carl Eugene Martin of Murphysboro; and 6 grandchildren, Carrera, Layne, Kaitlyn, Alex, Cameron and Reagan.

Eugene was preceded in death by Parents; one daughter, Pamela Sue Martin; and brother, Carl Dean Martin.

Private graveside services will be held at Valhalla Cemetery in Belleville.  Memorials may be given to Hospice of Southern Illinois.  Arrangements are being handled by Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava.
